Blue Sparrow started the way many good ideas do. Out of frustration.
One dreary October afternoon I was trying to shop for a new wardrobe and everything felt… wrong. Nothing fit well. Nothing felt like me. It seemed like every rack was designed for either a 20-year-old or an 80-year-old, with very little in between.
And the truth is, this happens every season.
Fast fashion is everywhere. We’re encouraged to buy more, buy quickly, and replace things constantly. But the more I shopped, the more I realized I was spending money trying to look good while not actually feeling good about what I was buying. The quality wasn’t there. The fit wasn’t there. And the cycle of buy–wear–replace just didn’t sit right with me.
Years ago, before I went back to school in 2014, I owned a consignment store. I already knew something many shoppers are just beginning to rediscover: the best pieces are often the ones that have already lived a little.
Beautiful fabrics. Better construction. Brands that last.
The challenge, of course, is time.
